Reach Community Solar Farm

We've built a community solar farm near Reach. The solar farm is owned and run by a co-operative of local people, and generates enough clean, green electricity to power 50 houses - about half the village.

• We raised £340,000 from local people to build the solar farm. A total of 112 people bought shares.
• The solar farm began operating in January 2016. It's expected to be operational for at least 20 years.
• We are a Community Benefit Society, with the express object of benefitting the community as well as providing a good return to investors. Some of our income will be donated to a Community Benefit Fund each year to be spent on other environmental projects.
